Shu Uemura Rouge Unlimited M RD 165 Gimme Some Red

Seriously I was really going to write, to blog some updates about my make up haul or some reviews, I know , no excuses will please you so... Let's talk about this red. Finally, my kind of red lipstick. My shades. Matte. Pigmented. Glides perfectly, very smooth.

Two weeks a go I went to Sephora just to check some shimmery taupe eyeshadow, which later, none of them were interesting. One thing which is kinda suitable for my looking is Sephora Eyeshadow which looks like NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil. I was so eager to get it after trying it on my creases... Pretty, shimmery, and taupe BUT unfortunately, they ran out of the BIG sharpener. So, I cancelled my plan and just strolled around the store to find anything interesting to cover up my disappointment.

Never once I tried anything from Shu Uemura. A lot of people have been talking to me since years a go that Shu offers great range of makeup remover, eyelashes curler, and lipsticks. Since I had never used any favorable or hype items as my makeup remover or eyelashes curler, I did not give much attention... But the lipstick was quite cute I thought. I tried several color but ended up loving the red one, warm and instantly complementing my yellow skin tone.

Another closer look. Really I can give this one 4.5 out of 5. The only minus: it's not latching on like liquid lipstick so you gotta re apply every single time you eat. But you know, for the texture like this, I really don't mind.

Nude Lips: MAC Lipstick in Spirit

My last sight upon nude lipstick was on Bobbi Brown's. Just normal MLBB and for less than a week I got bored, leaving it at home then rekindle with my go-to & HG: Stila Convertible Lip & Cheek Stain in Poppy. But but but.....
Last week I bumped into a very nice shade of MAC lipstick collection that hadn't been on my radar for that looong time.
Here comes the new superstar: MAC Lipstick in Spirit

Pardon my pimples and scars, just look at the nude shade... Very pretty and versatile though somehow I managed to meet people who said that it was too pale. Well, if you combine it with swipes of blush and radiant eye makeup, it will perfect the rest.

Thoughts upon it:
1. It's matte and stays for 4-5 hours, thru every cups you got.
2. Affordable. Yes?! Among all sick-omagad expensive high end lipstick, this is worth it.
3. Rare items.
4. Try on your lips before getting one since the shade is quite tricky.
5. A good pick for completing your sexy smokey eyes, natural brown eye makeup, or paired witj heavy falsies.

What's your fave nude lipstick?

On My Second Tube : Nivea Sun Whitening Face Cream SPF 50

Just being honest, I rarely do a second purchase unless the thing works really good on me. This is my daily support for a flawless, fair skin.

I started using sunscreen regularly since I went to college, the humidity and the exposure of the sun were quite rough so I needed to protect my skin. I always prefer a standalone sunscreen to the one in BB or CC cream, just a personal preference though.

After trying several face suncreen previously, you name it, Banana Boat, SkinAqua, etc... I think this one is my fave. Let's see why:

1. Its reasonable price. Just being realistic, sunscreen should be applied everyday, and after some watery or sweaty activities, you have to re-apply. I don't think I wanna spend much on this too matter fact it's EXTREMELY important for my skin.

2. It has a powdery finish. Not sticky at all. Not greasy at all. I used to hate applying sunscreen because of its stickiness but this one offers nicer choice.

3. It DOES protect the skin. Sounds a bit riddiculous but as you know it, sometimes it just doesn't. So be careful when picking one.

Are those 3 reasons enough?

I gotta add one more. It blends nicely with any makeup. I never have to worry it will crumple or so with the makeup I will apply rightafter.

Here's the pic of its consistency, you just need a little amount for your whole face and neck. I usually apply this after washing my face and in midday.

Tell me, do you regularly put on sunscreen?
If you don't, well, you really need to.

Love,
Erinne

Current Obsession : Kiss Me Heroine Mascara

Each time I use it and post the pic on my instagram, I always receive questions and some remarks towards this thing. I heard about this mascara since...years a go, I hardly can tell. If you check it out on some instagram make up shop, some offer you a chance to get one thru Pre Order (PO). There's something inconvinience about PO so I never gave it a try. Several weeks a go, this thing crossed my sight in Guardian Grand Indonesia... Finally, I got one. Kiss Me Heroine Mascara Volume and Curl. I picked this one rather than the Long and Curl one since my lashes is long but thin. There you go the results:

7 comments on this mascara:
1. Cheap packaging. It really looks cheap that you won't think that it costs you around $15.
2. One thing why it looks cheap because its packaging feels very light. And yes I love it because it doesn't weigh on the makeup pouch.
3. Waterproof, smudgeproof, sweatproof. It will stay that way until you decide to put it off.
4. Good consistency! Won't crumple on your lashes. Feels so sheer but so matte.
5. Cheap for this quality... YES! Compared to another high end mascara that manages to get you broke. ;)
6. It's my HG mascara rite now.
7. I'm so gonna repurchase.

Kinda eyeing on Kiss Me Heroine eyeliner, my beloved friend @nadyanasiswanto (check her ig!) promise me to get one soon. I'll share to you all the experiences after trying it on.

*All stuffs here belong to me, all comments and thoughts are also mine.*

What's you HG mascara? Share and tell :)

A Review: Revlon Super Lustrous "Certainly Red"

Certainly Red
I'm a sucker for lippen. Especially red. Knowing I rarely wear that.. yet, I keep buying some. This one is amazing. A little bit pinkish in my opinion, and bluish.
The staying power is good. After some heavy eating, the stain will be there in your lips making you looking fresh. For a dramatic look or night make up, double swipes of this will make you look dazzling. Impressive and not drying at all. 3 stars from me, why? Because I don't like the packaging. Less chic, huh? But the formula and the color are awesome!

Only wear it once and planned to give it a go for anyone who wants it..since I owned a Russian Red. Anyone?

all review was based on my personal opinion, products are also mine.

Current Addiction : Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama in Black

taken with my mac, sorry for the bad resolution :p
Been years!
Or feels like years. Howdy :-D
My hair is already black again and I found several good stuffs that might not bite the wallet, too.
If you follow my instagram, it is Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama. Yes, I wore it in these photos. Free smudge (the most important point for me), extremely easy to apply, plus long lasting. It stays. Much better than my MAC eyeliner which can cost you three times than this.
The gel is not drying plus the color is intense. Good for any type of liner you wanna make. 5 stars from me! It's a HG.

all of this review is based on my personal opinion, products are also mine.

Choose The Liners

I am a sucker for eyeliners. I first knew them (and tried to wear them) while I was in high school, senior high school, was it late?

Before that, I just hadn't liked them. In my thoughts those days, they were all smudgy, making your eye makeup go black, and difficult to remove! I guess those opinion were purely because of my lack of experience in wearing them. :p
Eyeliner really can go awesome if we put it in a right way.
Shall I start? 3 stripes above are pencil eyeliner, liquid eye liner pen, and the truest liquid eye liner. What I mean here with the truest liquid eye liner is an eye liner with brush as its applicator. Above are 3 from different brands.
They are Borjouis Eyeliner Pencil, Max Factor Glide and Define Liquid Eyeliner, and Sariayu Double Eyeliner-Mascara.
Only the second one is my favorite because it's the easiest to apply with shaky hand or lack of experience. Seriously, all of these liners are great, yet our preference can be based on how we love to apply them. One of my friend is a big fan of Sariayu Double Eyeliner-Mascara, she uses it everyday and it stays on her, not smudgy, and look lovely.

Here below my conclusion:

  • Eyeliner pencil is for those who wants smudgy effect, makes smokey eyes, loves to tight-lining (lining the eyelash line), hates jet black liners, and hates liners which are hard to remove.
  • Liquid eyeliner pen is for those who wants natural look (it can be applied very thin), needs more control, has shaky hands, doesn't want a smudgy effect.
  • Liquid eyeliner with brush is for those who has a good psychomotor (?), wants a jet black liner, hates smudgy effect, wants dramatical usage, and loves winged-eyes.
I haven't tried eyeliner gel at all and currently eyeing for Bobbi Brown ones, have you guys tried it?
Share some opinions here! :) xx Erin

The Reason Why Beauty Blog

Since I was kid, playing with make up, trying lipstick, eyeshadow, lashes clipper, and others seem fun. It lasts until now. I wasn't really paying attention to this hobby later, until I hit several beauty tutorials that really got me inspired.
Sounds cliché? It does.
Then I was thinking to take this hobby a little bit seriously. I have blogged since 2008 in Xenon Flash but all I post here until now is my thoughts and feelings. I don't feel like using it to post about fashion and beauty stuffs so I decided to make this, which previously named Splendore now changing into POSH.

The passion was still there, but the time and the motivation were not. I was lacking of any urgency to blog on here and come back to my old habit, just to write what I want to write until I came up to a problem I used to face. I was thinking how lovely it would be to share what we know, since probably, others don't. I remembered a moment when I was still in Junior High School and going to school after using lashes clipper and putting on transparent mascara. Well, probably there are a lot of people, a lot of girls out there who are just the same, like me, love this make up stuff, and always want to look good.
It's very human.

I also remembered one moment in Senior High School when parties were all over the weeks. Every week got each party we should attend. Make up saved everything, yet I was pretty clueless at that time. It doesn't mean that I'm doing this really good, yet somehow I realize I've found quite tips and tricks that I didn't know at that time as simple as blending the mesmerizing eyeshadow on creases, how to choose the correct foundation so you don't look like wearing a mask, and so on. Sounds simple but very important. Another purpose of this blog is to decrease the level of cluelessness between girls who start to use make up. So, there will be less clueless-about-makeup girls like I used to be in the future. :p

Though in daily campus life I don't use make up, I believe all of us need this at least for a date with someone whom you really adore, or going out with best friends when you will take a lot of pictures.
I believe we all want to look good.
However, I still hold strongly that the inner and the character should be there since the very first time. The outer can be improved easily later. Perfectly arched brows and lovely shade of lipstick are always complimentary.

Review: Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick #117 Almost Nude

It feels like I'm having a serious relationship with nude lipstick. The fact that I really fall for them and use them a lot though reddish colors suit me much better. This is another nude lipstick of mine and currently a favorite

low light
sufficient light

In a hot sunny day when you don't feel using way pinkish lipstick, this can be a great choice. It has a little shade of pale coral mixed with peachy touch. Literally doesn't fresh your look up, my mom always complains because this makes me kinda pale, but I insist on the fact that it is simply gorgeous.

Pros:
- very affordable, like $4 each here in Indonesia
- smooth
- doesn't make your lips dried
- classic packaging

Cons:
- poor staying power

I literally fall for this nude lipstick, this one is much better than the color burst series I ever reviewed. If you look for a neutral shade that is very affordable and smooth on your lips, this can be a choice but I don't think I will repurchase when I run out of it. Probably, I will look for the better staying power since I rarely do touch-ups.

Review : Revlon Colorburst Lipstick in Blush #035

Just so you know, this is my first nude lipstick. I always fall for reddish tone and never give up on them but going with nude color literally can be nice sometimes. This is an old product from Revlon. I don't really know whether you can still find it on their counter. The newest lipstick from Revlon is the Lip Butter series but I haven't tried it yet.

I chose the shade Blush because it looked really nice on the stick, very natural, pinkish just like no lipstick lips.

It is also beautiful when being swatched as you can see above. Looks pigmented, glides smoothly on lips, and definitely moisturizes. The problem appears when I use it on my lips, it's just like I don't wear any lipstick or lipgloss.
It is literally my lips color, not even better and that's a bit disappointing. Choosing the wrong shade leads to a minor heart break. :-/
The staying power is about 2-3 hours, yes, you should regularly retouch it. The smell is not so good, just like another normal smell of lipstick.

The best thing about this lipstick is...unfortunately, for me, its packaging. From all of Revlon lipstick collections, this series bring out the best. Very sleek, elegant, and doesn't look cheap. On the cap, we can see the color of the lipstick and that makes it easy to find the right color we want to wear from outside the make up stash.

Pros:
-affordable, approx. $8 for each
-moisturizing lips
-available in many shades
-pigmented
-a little bit shiny after use effect
-elegant packaging with color sample on the top of cap

Cons:
-smells so-so
-low staying power

This one can be a good stuffs, a valuable one if you choose the right shade. Be careful with it.
All of make up stuffs being reviewed are my belongings and the review based on my very own perspectives, please share your thoughts and comments!<3

Review : NYX Eyeshadow Ombre in DANDY

I easily regret in buying make up. Especially, when the product is super-hyped, and then when I try by myself, nothing special. That's just frustrating.
But this one is different.
I bought this eyeshadow trio in November 2011. I was about to participate in a huge dance musical, yes, as a dancer, then I went around the department store looking for several pretty falsies and eyeshadow base. When oin NYX counter, I stumbled upon this eyeshadow trio.
This is very gorgeous and wearable. Don't you see that it's extremely natural? Yes, to achieve natural eyes look and light smokey eyes, this one can be the tool.

I don't really remember how many different types of set NYX got for this trio but this one is the most natural. NYX eyeshadow also comes in 5 shades in a set. Another thing that I love about this is the packaging! It's very elegant in glossy black. Very tight too, this palette ever slipped on my fingers yet it did not crack. It also comes with mirror and applicator inside.

See the swatch? Yes, like everyone has told, NYX eyeshadow is very pigmented. I swatched them all without using any eyeshadow base. Can you imagine how pop the color will be if we use the base first?
Dandy comes with 3 shades inside. Rich chocolate brown, white, and latte; they are all matte.
I sometimes use them to contour my nose plus cheekbone and they do just fine.

PROS

-affordable
-easy to get
-beautifully pigmented
-easy to blend
-luxurious packaging
-easy to apply for beginner
-comes with mirror and applicator inside the packaging
-practical and handy

CONS

N/A

NYX Eyeshadow Ombre in Dandy has got 4.6gr in about $15 but really you can get them cheaper if you buy on certain valid online shop. Like just half price. Shocking?
This is another HG product.<3

Review : Anna Sui Lip Gloss R Brilliant A Levres R #450

There are several reasons why I decided to make another blog, beside the long, close best friend, Xenon Flash. Well you can visit too if you wanna read and share about certain thoughts :p
The first reason, I've just found out lately, well not lately, I've been into makeup and beauty stuffs since I was kid, that playing with these beauty stuffs are definitely fun and that might be more fun if I share some insights and findings here.

The another reason is I love to look for reviews of beauty products when considering to buy them and somehow not finding the review I look for is quite devastating. Several products are so hyped out there that everyone makes a review about them and the rest are quite forgotten.
This post is more about the second reason. This lipgloss is DEFINITELY my favorite but I hardly find its review at any blog out there. :p

I bought this Anna Sui Lip Gloss #450 several months a go. I wanted a quite pigmented lip gloss with light and non-sticky consistency, and here it is. I went to several outlets with my boyfriend, yes he is very patient when accompanying me hunting beauty stuffs, like MAC, MUFE, and more but I could not find the lip gloss with criteria I mentioned before. There are A LOT OF, yes, A LOT OF, lip gloss out there and mostly, they carry sticky formula and not-so-pigmented. One SA (Shop Assistant) from a remarkable outlet said to me that almost all of lipgloss would be sticky, but I believed that I could find a light one, yet very pigmented. Here it is, my HG lipgloss.

Anna Sui Lip Gloss R Brilliant A Levres R #450 comes in several shades, but I fall for this one, deep red. It is VERY pigmented that you only need to use a small amount of it in your lips and voila, all of your lips look brighter and glossy. It cost me $17 for 7,5mL and the packaging is very beautiful. The more additional point is its smell. VERY NICE!

One thing you should be careful of when applying this lip gloss is do not put it too much because it is very pigmented. Just use a little swap on your lips and it will be nicely glossy with touch of red. Very good for natural look.

Pros:
- very pigmented
- non-sticky
- nice smell, very sweet
- tight packaging, strong
- can be found at any Anna Sui counter
- worth the price

Cons:
N/A, this is my fave

Anyway, all of the reviews here based on my own point of views and perspectives. All products are mine and not coming from several brand promotions or so.
