A Review: Revlon Super Lustrous "Certainly Red"

Certainly Red
I'm a sucker for lippen. Especially red. Knowing I rarely wear that.. yet, I keep buying some. This one is amazing. A little bit pinkish in my opinion, and bluish.
The staying power is good. After some heavy eating, the stain will be there in your lips making you looking fresh. For a dramatic look or night make up, double swipes of this will make you look dazzling. Impressive and not drying at all. 3 stars from me, why? Because I don't like the packaging. Less chic, huh? But the formula and the color are awesome!

Only wear it once and planned to give it a go for anyone who wants it..since I owned a Russian Red. Anyone?

Current Addiction : Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama in Black

taken with my mac, sorry for the bad resolution :p
Been years!
Or feels like years. Howdy :-D
My hair is already black again and I found several good stuffs that might not bite the wallet, too.
If you follow my instagram, it is Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama. Yes, I wore it in these photos. Free smudge (the most important point for me), extremely easy to apply, plus long lasting. It stays. Much better than my MAC eyeliner which can cost you three times than this.
The gel is not drying plus the color is intense. Good for any type of liner you wanna make. 5 stars from me! It's a HG.

Choose The Liners

I am a sucker for eyeliners. I first knew them (and tried to wear them) while I was in high school, senior high school, was it late?

Before that, I just hadn't liked them. In my thoughts those days, they were all smudgy, making your eye makeup go black, and difficult to remove! I guess those opinion were purely because of my lack of experience in wearing them. :p
Eyeliner really can go awesome if we put it in a right way.
Shall I start? 3 stripes above are pencil eyeliner, liquid eye liner pen, and the truest liquid eye liner. What I mean here with the truest liquid eye liner is an eye liner with brush as its applicator. Above are 3 from different brands.
They are Borjouis Eyeliner Pencil, Max Factor Glide and Define Liquid Eyeliner, and Sariayu Double Eyeliner-Mascara.
Only the second one is my favorite because it's the easiest to apply with shaky hand or lack of experience. Seriously, all of these liners are great, yet our preference can be based on how we love to apply them. One of my friend is a big fan of Sariayu Double Eyeliner-Mascara, she uses it everyday and it stays on her, not smudgy, and look lovely.

Here below my conclusion:

  • Eyeliner pencil is for those who wants smudgy effect, makes smokey eyes, loves to tight-lining (lining the eyelash line), hates jet black liners, and hates liners which are hard to remove.
  • Liquid eyeliner pen is for those who wants natural look (it can be applied very thin), needs more control, has shaky hands, doesn't want a smudgy effect.
  • Liquid eyeliner with brush is for those who has a good psychomotor (?), wants a jet black liner, hates smudgy effect, wants dramatical usage, and loves winged-eyes.
I haven't tried eyeliner gel at all and currently eyeing for Bobbi Brown ones, have you guys tried it?
Share some opinions here! :) xx Erin

The Reason Why Beauty Blog

Since I was kid, playing with make up, trying lipstick, eyeshadow, lashes clipper, and others seem fun. It lasts until now. I wasn't really paying attention to this hobby later, until I hit several beauty tutorials that really got me inspired.
Sounds cliché? It does.
Then I was thinking to take this hobby a little bit seriously. I have blogged since 2008 in Xenon Flash but all I post here until now is my thoughts and feelings. I don't feel like using it to post about fashion and beauty stuffs so I decided to make this, which previously named Splendore now changing into POSH.

The passion was still there, but the time and the motivation were not. I was lacking of any urgency to blog on here and come back to my old habit, just to write what I want to write until I came up to a problem I used to face. I was thinking how lovely it would be to share what we know, since probably, others don't. I remembered a moment when I was still in Junior High School and going to school after using lashes clipper and putting on transparent mascara. Well, probably there are a lot of people, a lot of girls out there who are just the same, like me, love this make up stuff, and always want to look good.
It's very human.

I also remembered one moment in Senior High School when parties were all over the weeks. Every week got each party we should attend. Make up saved everything, yet I was pretty clueless at that time. It doesn't mean that I'm doing this really good, yet somehow I realize I've found quite tips and tricks that I didn't know at that time as simple as blending the mesmerizing eyeshadow on creases, how to choose the correct foundation so you don't look like wearing a mask, and so on. Sounds simple but very important. Another purpose of this blog is to decrease the level of cluelessness between girls who start to use make up. So, there will be less clueless-about-makeup girls like I used to be in the future. :p

Though in daily campus life I don't use make up, I believe all of us need this at least for a date with someone whom you really adore, or going out with best friends when you will take a lot of pictures.
I believe we all want to look good.
However, I still hold strongly that the inner and the character should be there since the very first time. The outer can be improved easily later. Perfectly arched brows and lovely shade of lipstick are always complimentary.

Review: Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick #117 Almost Nude

It feels like I'm having a serious relationship with nude lipstick. The fact that I really fall for them and use them a lot though reddish colors suit me much better. This is another nude lipstick of mine and currently a favorite

low light
sufficient light

In a hot sunny day when you don't feel using way pinkish lipstick, this can be a great choice. It has a little shade of pale coral mixed with peachy touch. Literally doesn't fresh your look up, my mom always complains because this makes me kinda pale, but I insist on the fact that it is simply gorgeous.

Pros:
- very affordable, like $4 each here in Indonesia
- smooth
- doesn't make your lips dried
- classic packaging

Cons:
- poor staying power

I literally fall for this nude lipstick, this one is much better than the color burst series I ever reviewed. If you look for a neutral shade that is very affordable and smooth on your lips, this can be a choice but I don't think I will repurchase when I run out of it. Probably, I will look for the better staying power since I rarely do touch-ups.

Review : Revlon Colorburst Lipstick in Blush #035

Just so you know, this is my first nude lipstick. I always fall for reddish tone and never give up on them but going with nude color literally can be nice sometimes. This is an old product from Revlon. I don't really know whether you can still find it on their counter. The newest lipstick from Revlon is the Lip Butter series but I haven't tried it yet.

I chose the shade Blush because it looked really nice on the stick, very natural, pinkish just like no lipstick lips.

It is also beautiful when being swatched as you can see above. Looks pigmented, glides smoothly on lips, and definitely moisturizes. The problem appears when I use it on my lips, it's just like I don't wear any lipstick or lipgloss.
It is literally my lips color, not even better and that's a bit disappointing. Choosing the wrong shade leads to a minor heart break. :-/
The staying power is about 2-3 hours, yes, you should regularly retouch it. The smell is not so good, just like another normal smell of lipstick.

The best thing about this lipstick is...unfortunately, for me, its packaging. From all of Revlon lipstick collections, this series bring out the best. Very sleek, elegant, and doesn't look cheap. On the cap, we can see the color of the lipstick and that makes it easy to find the right color we want to wear from outside the make up stash.

Pros:
-affordable, approx. $8 for each
-moisturizing lips
-available in many shades
-pigmented
-a little bit shiny after use effect
-elegant packaging with color sample on the top of cap

Cons:
-smells so-so
-low staying power

This one can be a good stuffs, a valuable one if you choose the right shade. Be careful with it.
All of make up stuffs being reviewed are my belongings and the review based on my very own perspectives, please share your thoughts and comments!<3
